Neuhoff Media Lafayette was recognized by the Indiana Broadcasters Association for their annual Feed the Need Day to benefit Food Finders Food Bank with the 2017 Cardinal Community Service Award at a ceremony at Purdue University on Tuesday.
Since 2009 Neuhoff Media Lafayette has raised over 170,000 meals for those in the area. The five stations, WASK-AM, WASK-FM, WKHY-FM, WKOA-FM, and WXXB-FM, broadcast the day before Thanksgiving on location at area grocery stores asking for non-perishable food and monetary donations. Neuhoff Media CEO, Beth Neuhoff, said, “You don’t do good things for your community for the recognition, but it’s nice to know your community recognizes the efforts.”
Food Finders Food Bank provides food to member agencies, advocates for the hungry, and educates the public about hunger-related issues in Tippecanoe and 15 surrounding counties in Indiana.
