April 11, 2018 – Wednesday afternoon in Las Vegas, The National Association of Broadcasters recognized WSOY-AM, and the Decatur Community, by honoring the station and 9 other radio stations nationwide with its “Crystal Award”, which recognizes “Outstanding Year-Round Commitment to Community Service”.

Beth Neuhoff, President and CEO of Neuhoff Communications said, “With over 12,000 radio stations in the U.S., to be one of ten recognized for excellence – for the third time – is no accident. I am over the moon with pride for the Decatur community, Team Neuhoff and our hardworking colleagues at WSOY.”

WSOY was also presented with Crystal Awards in 2012 and 2015.

Mike Hulvey, Vice President and COO of Neuhoff Communications, who also serves as Market Manager for Decatur, particularly wanted to thank the community. “We thank the community for all it does each and every day.  The NAB Crystal Award celebrates those local efforts in conjunction with America’s Radio Broadcasters.”

Each year, 50 finalists for the Crystal Award are chosen nationwide. The 10 winners were announced this year at the inaugural “We are Broadcasters Celebration” at the Las Vegas Convention Center as part of the 2018 NAB Show.
